There was a time that I felt guilty for taking a mental health day. I thought people would think something was wrong with me. There were time that something was wrong, but there were other times that I just needed a day off to maintain my well-being. I learned that mental health days could be a preventative health measure. Today I am taking a mental health day. There is nothing wrong with me. It is a preventative health measure to ensure that I maintain my mental well-being after an emotionally taxing few days.
I encourage you to take care of your mental well-being by taking a mental health day when you need it. The job will be there tomorrow. The laundry will be there tomorrow. The kids will survive. Your spouse will understand. Cereal is a meal and your family can make it themselves. The world will not stop if you do. Take care of yourself, you're worth it!
