About Me
I'm a native of Decatur Georgia. I attended Southwest DeKalb High School, Spelman College, State University of West Georgia, Argosy University, and Liberty University. I hold a Bachelor's of Arts in psychology, a Master's of Education in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, an Educational Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction, and I hold a certificate in Christian counseling.

I'm a suicide attempt survivor. My suicide attempt was Labor Day weekend of 2011. My journey to healing included several inpatient hospital stays, Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), Intensive Outpatient Therapy, 10+ years of various medication regimens, and countless hours of therapy. While I have seen numerous therapists over the course of my 10+ years to wellness, I have been fortunate enough to remain with the same psychiatric team throughout this journey.

Maintaining my mental wellness is my top priority! There was a time that I was passive in my healing. This is no longer true. I put in a great deal of work managing my mental health. I lean on my support system. I am aware of my triggers. I plan for anxiety provoking situations. I now practice intentional self-care. I never get too busy for therapy. I practice gratitude. I have learned the importance of clearly defined boundaries. Basically, I learned that I am worth it!
"For what it's worth it's never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you're proud of, and if you're not, I hope you have the strength to start over."
F. Scott Fitzgerald
